Erfurt (dpa/th) - The value of imports and exports in Thuringia increased in the second quarter. The value of the imported goods rose by 25 percent compared to the same period last year, as the state statistics office announced on Wednesday. Exports increased by 4 percent. "Both developments are still largely the result of the sharp rise in import and export prices, with import prices increasing even more than export prices."
Goods worth 4.3 billion euros were imported between April and June. The value of imported goods from China increased by more than 50 percent. A total of 4.5 billion euros was achieved for exports. Values increased particularly for exports to EU countries.
