Erfurt (dpa/th) - sea, safari, mountains, camping: Information on the subject of holidays has been available at the Erfurt Exhibition Center since Friday. This year's "Travel and Caravan" trade fair started there. Over four days, almost 300 exhibitors from Germany and abroad provide information about travel options and destinations. Shortly after the opening, the three exhibition halls and the open space were filled with visitors, as a spokeswoman for the organizers said. "For Friday, the response is great." Up to and including Monday, Reformation Day, around 20,000 onlookers are expected.
Friends of mobile holidays can find out about the new products in camping trailers and mobile homes in Erfurt. 210 vehicles can be seen. For the first time in Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, the latest models for the 2022/23 season will be shown at a trade fair, said the spokeswoman.
Austrian holiday providers are traditionally well represented in Erfurt. The Alpine country is a popular and easily accessible holiday destination for Thuringians. The Mediterranean island of Malta presents itself for the first time. Holidays in Germany also take up a lot of space. "Travel and Caravan" is considered the largest travel fair in Thuringia.
