Thuringia: Trial for robbery is postponed

Erfurt (dpa/th) - The trial of an alleged right-wing attack on three men from Guinea in Erfurt has been postponed by a week. Because one of the defense attorneys was ill, the hearing could not be opened as planned this Wednesday, a spokesman for the Erfurt district court told the German Press Agency on Tuesday. The new date for the start of the process is now November 30th.

According to the regional court, nine men and one woman have to answer for themselves. The public prosecutor essentially accuses them of attacking the three Africans in a district in the south-east of the state capital in August 2020.

The attack had sparked nationwide horror at the time. The accused are assigned to the right-wing extremist scene. The attack on the men happened just a few meters away from a property where a right-wing extremist group had rented rooms at the time.
