Thuringia: undertaker is the new craft president in southern Thuringia

Rohr (dpa/th) - The undertaker Mike Kämmer from Zella-Mehlis is the new president of the South Thuringia Chamber of Crafts. The 57-year-old was elected to the top office at the general assembly on Saturday, as a spokeswoman informed. Kämmer succeeds baker Lutz Koscielsky, who reportedly died in August as a result of an accident. According to Kämmer, the most important task for the coming years is to secure the next generation of skilled workers and the company succession and to make the companies more resilient in the face of the economically tense times. The obligation to become a master craftsman must also be retained.

The term of office lasts until 2026. According to the South Thuringia Chamber of Crafts, around 6,500 companies with 37,000 employees belong to it. They generated an annual turnover of around 3 billion euros.
