Leipzig (dpa/th) - The year in Thuringia is ending rainy, windy and very mild. A meteorologist from the German Weather Service in Leipzig said it could only become more wintry from mid-January. The snow has also melted away in the Thuringian Forest.
On the second day of the festival, the rain moves east. After temperatures of ten to twelve, six to ten degrees in the mountains, the values go back to three to one degree on Tuesday night, in the mountains it can also be minus three degrees. In the ridges of the Thuringian Forest, the rain turns to snow.
With a maximum of four to six degrees, Tuesday will be the coldest and friendliest day of the week. It remains mostly free of precipitation, the sun can be seen.
From Wednesday the sky will cloud over again, it will rain again and again and the temperatures will rise to six to nine degrees, in the mountains two to six degrees. A weak to moderate south-west wind is blowing - there may be gusts of wind on the ridges. New Year's Eve is expected to be uncomfortable - at 14 to 16 degrees, rain and wind.
