Meiningen (dpa/th) - A violent man hid from the police in the attic of a house in Meiningen after a relationship dispute. According to police reports, the 39-year-old appeared in his ex-girlfriend's apartment on Sunday and threatened the woman. The police officers who were called had to search for the man on Saturday night and found him in the attic of the house. There I threatened to injure officials with a screwdriver.
Since he didn't put the tool away and didn't follow instructions, the man was overpowered with coercion and pepper spray. He was examined by a doctor to be on the safe side, but was unharmed, the police reported. When checking his personal details, it turned out that the 39-year-old was wanted on an arrest warrant. He had to start his sentence in a correctional facility.
