Ukraine: Russian strike in Kherson kills at least 3

Two days after deadly artillery fire, a new Russian strike left at least three people dead and two injured in Kherson, southern Ukraine, authorities said on Saturday March 11. "It became known that three people were killed and two injured at the site of an enemy attack on the highway (which connects) Mykolaiv to Kherson," said Telegram Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the regional military administration of Kherson. "Rescue work continues" at the scene, he added.

In a previous message, the official claimed that "a car caught fire after being hit by a projectile", referring to one death and one injury initially.

“Russian terrorists are bombing Kherson again. There are wounded and dead, ”lamented the head of the presidential administration Andriï Iermak on Telegram, without giving more details at this stage. However, he accompanied his message with a photo of a completely charred car, firefighters busy around the charred carcass.

This new strike comes two days after Russian artillery shell fire killed three people in the same city of Kherson, according to the Ukrainian presidency. Kherson, the main city in the eponymous region of southern Ukraine, was liberated by the kyiv army last November after several months of Russian occupation. Since then, Russian fire has been regular on the region, which Moscow partially controls.
