A 26-year-old woman drove her car into the water at the shore of Smyrna Dunes Park beach after driving across the sand, under the influence of alcohol, on the Volusia County shoreline in the east coast of Florida.

The incident caused expectation among the bathers who were surprised by the appearance of the vehicle when they were in their towels and in the bathroom on the beach.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office reported via Twitter that the driver is a woman identified as Sarah Ramsammy, 26, a resident of Orlando, who after crossing a crowded Florida beach with her vehicle was arrested on various charges.

As detailed by the authorities, the woman is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and not obeying a traffic control device, conduct that caused her to almost miss a minor who was on the beach at that time.

Local media reproduce scenes of the event in which the car is seen on the beach by the sea and the woman trying to explain to the authorities, before the astonished gaze of the bathers.
