On Friday, June 10, at 8 a.m., a fatal traffic accident took place in the Gorges de l'Arly, in the direction Ugine-Flumet, (RD 1212), at level of the Brochets bridge.
A van and a small vehicle collided. Firefighters, Samu, and Gendarmerie quickly arrived on the scene to help the occupants. The driver of the utility was seriously injured and had to be extracted and treated immediately. His passenger and the other driver were not too badly affected. They were all taken to Albertville hospital.
While emergency services intervened, the road was shut down and a detour was created by Hery-sur-Ugine. (RD 109). Traffic was restored by 10 a.m.
