Despite recent rains, rivers are still flowing slowly in the Savoie region. Beaufortain and Val d'Arly are now on drought alert. These territories are subject to temporary water restrictions. The restrictions include the prohibition of watering the lawn between 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.; and the prohibition of washing vehicles outside of designated stations for this purpose.

This situation is even more concerning in the Savoyard foreland and the watersheds Guiers, Lac du Bourget Cheran, Combe de Savoie which have been placed on heightened drought alert. In addition to the drought alert measures, agricultural irrigation has been banned between 9 a.m. Maurienne, Tarentaise and 8 p.m. These prefectural water restrictions measures will continue until September 15, 2022, at the latest.
