Weather: The next heat wave is approaching

Anyone who took a deep breath on Monday with a little fresher air and opened all the windows should enjoy the cool down while it lasts. Because according to the German Weather Service (DWD), the next heat wave is already foreseeable.

On Tuesday night there will be showers and thunderstorms, which are likely to be more numerous in the south. Heavy rain is also possible locally. But already on Tuesday it will be significantly warmer in many parts of Germany with maximum temperatures between 28 and 33 degrees.

An exception is the north, where the maximum values are between 21 and 26 degrees. A few showers or thunderstorms are only developing between the Alps and the Bavarian Forest. Given the recent cooling, nights remain without "tropical" temperatures in the range of 13 to 18 degrees.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the meteorologists expect plenty of sunshine with 27 to 36 degrees on Wednesday and 29 to 39 degrees on Thursday. Especially in the metropolitan areas, the temperatures could not fall below 20 degrees at night, otherwise the night temperatures may be 16 to 19 degrees.
