With traditional costumes in Düsseldorf: Mick Jagger gets the march blown

The Rolling Stones are on tour. And so Mick Jagger probably didn't choose voluntarily to celebrate his 79th birthday in Düsseldorf. But at least he was able to enjoy a different kind of serenade here, as a snapshot shows.

Musicians in lederhosen serenaded Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger - and in Düsseldorf of all places? The rock singer, who celebrated his 79th birthday on Tuesday, thanked Instagram for the many congratulations and referred to his stay in the North Rhine-Westphalian capital.

In a photo below the Düsseldorf location, he can be seen in the middle of a music band, and beer mugs can be seen on a small table. The "Bild" newspaper reported that Jagger celebrated his birthday in Düsseldorf with a Bavarian brass band. A concert by the Rolling Stones was scheduled for Wednesday evening in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen as part of the "Sixty" tour.

The photo then also surprised one or the other well-wishers. One user pointed out that it was a Bavarian costume from southern Germany and that this was a bit strange. In another entry, however, it says: "Great photo with Trachtler from Bavaria."

Among the well-wishers was the user "tegernseertanzlmusi", who wrote that it was a pleasure to play for Jagger. He reposted the photo of the music icon in the middle of the brass band and commented on it with the words: "Rock legends among themselves." The folk music band could not be reached for questions.

According to information from the "Rheinische Post", the members of the Rolling Stones arrived in the state capital on Monday. Your private plane, decorated with the band logo of a red tongue with red lips, landed in Düsseldorf before going to the luxury hostel Breidenbacher Hof on Königsallee. Jagger was also reportedly spotted strolling along the "Kö" on Tuesday morning.

Hundreds of fans gathered in front of the hotel, who also chanted "Happy Birthday". After their concert in Gelsenkirchen, the Stones travel on to a performance in Berlin.
