In the second quarter of this year, Lufthansa reported a net loss of 1.5 billion euros. Extensive costs would be able to compensate for reductions in the sales decline only in part, the company said. the group chief Christian Spohr said, the group expect that the demand for air travel before the year 2024 will again reach the level prior to the Corona-crisis. "We are witnessing a turning point of global aviation," said Spohr. The group have agreed a comprehensive restructuring programme with the title "ReNew", it said further. Provided is, among other things, the removal of 22,000 full-time.
