The discussion of reforms in education and the study of Catholic priests continues. In the "Herder correspondence" (August) defended the Fulda Bishop Michael Gerber of the proposed changes. The number of seminaries should be reduced, did not mean centralisation or harmonisation of training. Rather, a "greater diversity" of the training of priests was intended as Gerber.
