Meat should not become a luxury item
Özdemir also resisted criticism that his latest plea against "junk prices" for meat, for example, was antisocial. "Everyone should still be able to afford meat. It should not become a luxury item.“ But it is dishonest to try to play certain groups against each other on this issue.
Özdemir had declared a few days ago that there should be no more junk prices for food. They ruined farms, prevented more animal welfare, promoted species extinction and polluted the climate. Food should not become a luxury item, but its price should express "the ecological truth" more strongly.
