Deutsche Telekom generated in the second quarter due to the Acquisition of the us competitor Sprint significantly less net Income than the same time last year. The net profit slipped by more than 20 percent to 754 million euros.

The billion-dollar merger of subsidiary T-Mobile US with the smaller American Sprint group struck in the second quarter, the equivalent of about 700 million euros to beech. The sales of the Telekom rose as a result of the Acquisition, however, more than a third to 27 billion euros. Of these, about 7 billion euros accounted for on the balance sheet consolidation of Sprint. CEO Tim Höttges confirmed the price in America. "The merger in the United States for the group is a historical position."

With the result of the Telekom exceeded the forecasts of many analysts. They had expected on average a turnover of 25.6 billion euros and an adjusted operating profit of almost 9 billion euros. The Telekom had given these estimates, even in order.
