His Christmas wish list includes in 1957, fifty-one positions, he has crossed out. Jussi Adler-Olsen has always been a good storyteller, but that he would one day become a successful writer, it nothing to have points executed, writes Jonas Langvad Nilsson, in his entertaining biography "The many lives of Jussi Adler-Olsen" (2018). The desire of the father to follow, it is first of all a medical degree, a degree he does, however, in film science. At the time, the end of the Seventies, he was already a successful Comic-antiquarian and dreams of a career as an international Thriller author. First, however, he is also involved in the peace movement, works for a publishing house, writes books, composes film music and is starting to redevelop slums, which he sold for a profit.

He gives himself one last Chance, writes the Denmark game Thriller "mercy" (dt. 2009), which is about a kidnapped woman to be tortured in a pressure chamber slowly to death – and creates the breakthrough.
