Restaurateur on party culture: The ban is as a profession

I like it in principle, if people celebrate. Me, the contradiction bothers: The applicable provisions of tearing an entire industry into the abyss. The regulations of the state of Hesse to the German infection protection are very strict. Cultural institutions, Clubs and discos are not allowed to work in Hotels and Restaurants, no large firm can be aligned. This is tantamount to a prohibition from practising a profession. At the same time, tens of thousands in Frankfurt, meet at the Hotspots, and apply rules no distance, nothing.

What has this to do with the fact that Clubs may not be open, so that people meet at the Opera square? Where there are also restaurateurs who host guests – however, you should have nothing?

It's not just the Opera square, there are many Hotspots at the weekend, also illegal to celebrate in a basement with 200, 300 people, celebrate in Shisha bars. And on the Opera course only and guests do not sit in the Restaurants, the whole Area is full. But no matter where and who: The people are looking for each other, you want to encounter. And if that's not in Clubs and Hotels and Restaurants is possible, the demand for other ways known in the market economy. Then the Banker, who works in a home office comes, in the evening in the city centre, perhaps even from outside, with a Parking space in the underground garage, and the Opera square in a Pizza to deliver. Also a nice sense of life is.

But?

The Hotels, the Restaurants are not able to work, with regard to celebrations such as weddings and the like, in fact, because events in the state of Hesse is still the rule that each guest must have five square meters of space. The are also training companies, which may not form under these circumstances, there is a youth unemployment threatens. And the outside Party will be made without compliance with the Corona-controlled conditions, without the need for the traceability of possible chains of Infection will be taken care of.

Why should be strictly intervene? The number of cases in the state of Hesse are extremely low.

Yes, so low that it is not absolutely clear why the Five-square-metre rule, which is, of course, been for the normal restaurant operation, there is definitively for our industry. It can be not only hardly weddings, there is hardly any confirmations, no anniversaries, no cultural events, and all this without logic.

Many of the Clubs have no free. If you should now open the door, it would be maybe a little, but in the fall, we experience perhaps a second wave of Covid-19-disease. And incidents such as in the case of Tönnies show not because of how fast infections among people in the same spaces, can spread?

It is important to me that you can carry out events. And a Hotel or a well-run Club has nothing to do with a battle factory like Tönnies, because there is no connection.
