Now, the crisis of the museums has brought the smallest state in the world in hardships. The Vatican museums are expected by the end of the year with a deficit of 53 million euros. Italy was to experience a second Corona-wave, it could get worse. The already financially already ailing sacred chair would slip in spite of the austerity of Pope Francis then even further in the red. The revenue from donations and dioceses are broke because of the abuse scandal caused a loss of Confidence in the administration of the Vatican land holdings ruled long nepotism, and personnel costs have been controlled until recently hardly.

A secure main sources of income for the Vatican museums were, however,: Who visited the Stanze of Raphael, in the Sistine chapel the head in the nape of the neck, to admire Michelangelo's "creation of eve", or in the papal Park and drove to the gold-trimmed horse-drawn carriages and vintage cars along walks, the only delight his eye with beauty, and experiencing perhaps a prayerful Moment. He contributes with the Museum ticket paid money to in the state the pay is right.

Earlier, the monthly income of the museums amounted to approximately EUR 12.5 million, they were up to 30,000 visitors a day, per year, there were about six million. Then the Lockdown, and a nearly three-month closure came. Since then, the museums are open again, have not found until about 60,000 mainly Roman visitors the way to get there. The fear of contagion is too great. It is just wonderful now, the art treasures again. There are no pushy or pushing people, and nowhere blocking large groups of the view.
