The lighting technology specialist, Osram may be taken over by the Austrian semiconductor manufacturer AMS without conditions.The EU Commission announced on Monday.
The Brussels authority has, therefore, no competition concerns for the 4.6 billion-Euro takeover offer. The competition among manufacturers of optical Sensors and semiconductors will not thereby substantially reduced, argues the Commission.
Thus, AMS expects the final acquisition of Osram on Thursday. Then AMS will be 69 percent of all of the shares of Osram.
The majority of the free float standing sensors group at the end of last year after a bidding battle, the necessary majority of shares in Osram. In March, the Austrians had carried out a capital increase. Only a few days ago the Management announced the successful placement of senior notes (Senior Notes) in the amount of EUR 650 million and $ 400 million.
