In a TUI CEO Fritz Joussen right: If the people can take a vacation, then you want to go away also, and make on the way.
After the Lockdown has brought due to the Corona-crisis, the tourism business in the spring almost completely to a Standstill, it runs noticeably high, since in June the first German tourists to Mallorca could fly. Compared with the Situation three months ago, Joussen could hope for when looking to the future, back to the Best and but prepare for the worst.
The tourism industry is affected by the Corona so strong, like no other industry. In the travel business, there was, in the truest sense of the word standstill. In the current quarter, TUI hopes now, at least, so much money that the ongoing costs will be covered.
But the market remains uncertain. It comes to the fear of a second wave? TUI has secured for the case of state aid.
The desire to travel remains unbroken. Already now the bookings for the summer of 2021, are well above those that were completed in the year prior to Corona for this summer. Desire to travel is only one side of the coin. A second Lockdown would not sustain the industry.
