The US company Singer achieved world fame by modernizing old Porsche 911s. The business model is also profitable. This has also been recognized at Milivié in Leipzig - and builds new ones from old donor Beetles.
Milivié is the name of a new restomod project in which the old donor vehicle, a VW Beetle 1303, is to be completely modernized, comfortably equipped and sporty tuned. Milivié GmbH, based in Leipzig, intends to build just 22 units. You want to offer customers extensive customization options, which is why the Saxons describe the purchase price as the entry-level price. 570,000 euros are therefore the minimum. Production is scheduled to start in the summer of 2023, and the last vehicles will be delivered around two years later.
Milivié GmbH wants to completely dismantle and rebuild every donor vehicle. Only the metal monocoque of the body and the floor pan are taken over from the original. The new chassis is characterized by independent wheel suspension and double wishbones on both axles as well as specially developed double tube dampers with separate compression and rebound adjustment. Toe, camber, trail should be adjusted to the preferences of the customer.
The optically modified conversion will stand on 19-inch rims that offer space for sports brakes with 34-centimeter discs, which in turn are clamped by monoblock brake calipers with 6 pistons at the front and 4 at the rear.
Inside, the modernized Beetle offers four bucket seats separated by a continuous center console. The cockpit consists of two large displays, which are framed in a piano wood housing above the dashboard. Milivié promises a number of comfort details such as camera-based parking assistance, air conditioning and automatic high beam and wipers.
It is powered by a new 2.28-liter boxer engine, which is combined with a completely revised ZF four-speed automatic transmission, which was originally used in the Porsche 911 Carrera 2 built from the late 1980s. Performance data or driving performance of the Milivié 1, which has only been presented on computer images so far, has not yet been mentioned.
