March 8 8M Demonstration in Madrid 2023: Route and schedule of the two main marches

This Wednesday, March 8, Madrid will host different marches for Women's Day 2023. Demonstrations that, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, will have no restrictions. Thus, there will be up to 43 in the entire Community of Madrid and 29 in the capital. Of course, this 2023 together with the mobilizations there is no call for a general strike.

Of all the marches, two stand out: the one considered the main demonstration, called by the 8M Commission; and the one called by the Feminist Movement of Madrid.

The 8M Commission calls for this main march. Among the issues that are claimed are equal opportunities and rights, sexual freedom or the end of all kinds of discrimination based on gender.

The 8M demonstration called by the 8M Commission will begin at 7:00 p.m. and its route will be similar to that of previous years.

In this way, the demonstration will begin in Atocha (Art station) and will go up the Paseo del Prado and then turn into Plaza de Cibeles and cross the entire Gran Vía until it ends at Plaza de España.

There is another demonstration for which a great mobilization is expected for this March 8. This is the march called by the Madrid Feminist Movement.

The main difference with the other mobilization is that this organization opposes the Trans Law, an important point where both platforms collide.

The route of the demonstration of the Feminist Movement will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V (Glorieta de Atocha) and will go down the Ronda de Atocha and the Paseo de Santa María de la Cabeza to end in the squares of the Province and Santa Cruz.
