A copy of the message, reported by the Washington Post, was verified by the Reuters news agency. A person who received the message on Twitter also confirmed its content. Twitter could not immediately be reached for comment.
Since taking power on Twitter, Musk has been turning the social network inside out at breakneck speed. The billionaire and Tesla founder took over Twitter for $44 billion at the end of October. Immediately afterwards, he threw out the previous boss, Parag Agrawal, and other high-ranking managers. Musk also fired around half of the approximately 7,000 employees.
