The wayward Javier Lambán has staged this Saturday his reconciliation with Pedro Sánchez for "amending the law of only is yes is yes" against the "cynical and extravagant" of Unidas Podemos, a party with which he also governs in coalition in Aragon. But this rapprochement has had its limit when it has indirectly alluded to the transfers of the PSOE to the pro-independence parties. The socialist baron has proclaimed himself "the guarantor of the application of the Constitution in the face of the constant centrifugal temptations of Basques and Catalans that put it at risk" and has sent a message to the President of the Government: "Spain is above the party".

Lambán spoke in Zaragoza, during the presentation of his party's candidate for mayor of this city, Lola Ranera, in the presence of a Sánchez clad in his iconic aubergine-colored jacket and the PSOE spokesperson and Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría , with whom he does not have a good relationship. At the end of the act, the cameras have reflected the existing tension between Sánchez and Lambán, who, in each appeal he makes to "transversality" and "common sense", usually throws a poisoned dart at his boss.

Knives were expected this Saturday, but Sánchez praised Lambán for "attracting the young people who left during the crisis" (361 have returned to Aragón in recent years) and he has thanked the PSOE leader for his "successful management in the international sphere, in obtaining European aid and in energy policy". He has also extended his hand in the worst crisis that the central government of the PSOE-Unidas Podemos coalition is experiencing. For this he has not even hesitated to disqualify his government partners.

"I am convinced that citizens expressly recognize you, especially progressives, for having decided to change the law of only yes is yes, a law that was born with the best of intentions but is producing absolutely undesirable effects. I applaud you that you have decided to amend the course of the law and, above all, I applaud you that you do not accept under any circumstances that cynical and extravagant feminisms snatch the flag of feminism from whoever can hold it with more dignity, which is the PSOE ", Lambán told Pedro Sánchez.

Despite the fact that the crisis of the yes is yes has not been resolved, and this change of course has not yet been made effective, Lambán wanted to show preventive support for Sánchez in view of the upcoming celebration of Women's Day, next March 8.

This endorsement has also sounded like a warning and with conditions in return. Because, straight away, the Aragonese baron has presented himself to Sánchez as "the guarantor of the unity of Spain and of the application of the Constitution, understood in its article 2 as equality of all Spaniards, wherever they live, in the face of the constant centrifugal temptations of Basques and Catalans that put the unity of the country at risk".

And, in case it had not been clear, he has repeated that "Aragon must be a bulwark in defense of that unity and in defense of the Spanish condition of the citizens of those two communities."

"We have to understand that the country is above the party; for us, Aragon and Spain are above the party," he stressed, also insisting a lot, on the other hand, that the PSOE of Aragon is "a party with its own voice " and proclaiming the end of "energy colonialism" to which, he maintains, his region has been subjected from regions such as Catalonia, the Basque Country or Madrid.

Lambán's words have eclipsed those of Sánchez, who had the script prepared for months to announce that next Tuesday the Council of Ministers will approve the distribution of "the largest game in scholarships in our history": 2,520 million euros for one million of young students who "will guarantee equal opportunities, wherever they live".

Sánchez -who has used, as a message, the same "live where they live" used minutes before by Lambán in his defense of territorial equality- has focused his intervention on the defense of the middle class, which has suffered "a deterioration of their purchasing power in the last decade, where salaries have risen 10% while prices have grown by more than 17%".

That is why he has contrasted a PP that "now seems to discover that abortion is a right" with a PSOE that, he has assured, guarantees the rights of citizens to "decent wages", "decent pensions", "health care" and " education of children and young people regardless of their family's current account".

He stressed that, with the government of Mariano Rajoy, the scholarship budget was 1,493 million euros and now there are going to be 1,000 million more, an increase of 70%, with an average amount of 1,730 euros for non-university students and 3,130 for university students.

The main novelty of the royal decree of scholarships that will be approved on Tuesday, anticipated by this newspaper, is that there will be a new universal subsidy for 240,000 students with specific educational support needs. Sánchez has said that they are for "students who suffer from some type of disability", although in reality not all of them have it. They will all receive it regardless of the income of their families and will have an amount of 400 euros, which "is justified by the fact that their families are forced to assume additional costs to meet their requirements," according to the argument published by the PSOE. .

In addition, the residence grant will be increased from 1,600 to 2,500 euros, from which families in rural areas of Empty Spain, whose sons and daughters have to move and reside in other cities to be able to pursue post-compulsory studies, will be able to benefit. in a clear nod to Javier Lambán.
