Redesigned and refreshed: Kia XCeed makes a sporty appearance

The refreshed Kia XCeed will be available for the new model year from September. Interested parties who like a sporty look will get their money's worth here: For the first time, Kia is offering the XCeed in the sporty GT line.

For the new model year from September, Kia is putting the revised XCeed in dealer showrooms. The somewhat more rustic version of the compact Ceed, which has been jacked up by a few millimeters, will be given a refreshed design and expanded equipment for the fall. The compact crossover features a newly designed radiator grille and front bumper, among other things. The rear gets a diffuser with a black underride protection design and indicated exhaust tips. The optionally available digital instrument cluster now has new graphic views.

For the first time, Kia is offering the XCeed in the sporty GT line. The radiator grille is emphasized with dark chrome applications, the rear with honeycomb LED taillights and a diffuser in body color. There are also black 18-inch rims and black exterior mirror caps. The interior is characterized by a flattened sports steering wheel, seat covers with a special GT line design, a leather-covered gear lever and a black headliner.

Kia has also revised the way the assistants work. The adaptive cruise control system with stop-and-go function is now also navigation-based. The drowsiness warning now also recognizes distractions in stationary traffic. If, for example, the vehicle in front starts to move and the driver does not react, he receives a warning.

As usual, Kia offers the XCeed with an 88 kW/120 hp one-liter three-cylinder turbo, a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo with 118 kW/160 hp and a 1.6-liter turbo with 150 kW/204 hp on. A plug-in hybrid with a system output of 104 kW/141 hp completes the range of petrol engines. The available diesel has an output of 100 kW/136 hp.

Kia does not name prices for the refreshed XCeed models. So far, the crossover was available from just under 22,000 euros. The EV6 will make its debut as a GT in autumn, and the market launch will be in November.
