Solar powered and cheap: e-bikes in Africa? Two wheels for a mobile future

The development of e-mobility to deal with mobility problems in Africa is one of the central challenges of the next few years. The NGO European Institute for Sustainable Transport - Eurist for short - is convinced that solar-powered e-bikes can be a sustainable solution for many people on the African continent. She developed the African e-bike in collaboration with Ebikes4Africa and the First African Bycicle Information Office. This supports 11 of the 17 sustainability goals of the United Nations, including the fight against poverty and hunger, sustainable mobility and climate protection, health and access to clean water.

Eurist founding member and strategy consultant Christof Hertel explains in the podcast "ntv mobil" how the program, which is mainly financed by donations, works and how successful it is already.
