Spain The AEMET warns that the haze returns to the peninsula: these will be the affected areas

The haze and coastal phenomena will affect the south of the country this Wednesday in a day in which slightly cloudy skies will predominate and in which the weak rains will hardly affect Levante, as reported by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), which limits risk warnings to the Pyrenees due to frost and to the south of the Peninsula and west of the Canary Islands due to coastal phenomena.

Specifically, the risk of low minimum temperatures of up to -6 degrees Celsius will be active in Girona and Lérida, while the risk of coastal phenomena will affect Almería and Granada, where winds from the east and northeast will blow at 50 to 60 kilometers per hour. (force 7), as well as on the islands of La Gomera and Tenerife, where a northerly wind with force 7 is expected, which will intensify mainly to the south of the channel between the two islands.

In addition, the haze will affect Melilla, Ceuta, Andalusia and Extremadura, although in general slightly cloudy skies will predominate in the extreme north of the peninsula and cloudy skies or with cloudy intervals, mainly medium and high, in the rest of the Peninsula and Balearic Islands, tending in general to slightly cloudy throughout the day.

The AEMET adds that the cloudiness will be more abundant in the east and southeast of the peninsula, with some weak rain in the Valencian community, which could also occur in areas of the southeastern mountains.

In the Canary Islands, more unstable weather since cloudy skies will predominate and there will be precipitation, except to the south of the islands with greater relief where the cloudiness will be less. In the easternmost islands throughout the day the skies will tend to be slightly cloudy.

In addition, the AEMET indicates that the snow levels will be between 1,600 and 1,800 meters in the southeast of the Peninsula and in the Canary Islands. At the same time, he adds that there is a probability of morning fog in the north of the peninsular Mediterranean coast, the Ebro valley, the southeastern mountains and the Central system.

The haze will persist in the surroundings of Alborán from where it will spread, although less intensely to the rest of Andalusia and Extremadura.

Temperatures will tend to drop in the north of the peninsula and in the Canary Islands while they will rise in the rest of the country and the frosts, which in any case will be weak, will spread over large areas of the northern half of the peninsula and the southeastern mountains, and will be more intense in the Pyrenees.

Finally, the AEMET forecasts that the southerly wind will blow in the eastern Cantabrian Sea and in the Ampurdán and the eastern component will predominate in the rest of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. In general it will blow lightly except on the coasts of the southern half and in the south of Andalusia where it will be more intense, reaching strong in the Strait and Alborán.

The wind in the Canary Islands will blow from the north, with strong intervals in the channels between islands, and very strong gusts in the westernmost islands.
