Technology How to activate shipment tracking in Gmail

When will my order arrive? Is it already in delivery or in transit? One of the main concerns when buying online is checking the shipment tracking, especially to make sure we are at home to receive it. To carry out the tracking, we usually look for the email of the courier company (or the SMS message), where there is the link that we must click to take us to the shipping details on their website. This process can be somewhat cumbersome, especially for those who are expecting several packages in a short period of time. Luckily, Gmail, Google's electronic service, already allows you to see the status of orders from the same inbox.

This new Google email function was introduced a few months ago, but it is in recent weeks that users can start activating it from their accounts. The Google service automatically detects the tracking numbers of the shipment notification emails to inform the inbox of the Gmail app of the shipment status and the estimated delivery date.

The Gmail shipment tracking function, available for both Android and iOS devices, is disabled by default, but just follow a few simple steps to activate it from your mobile phone:

And ready. From the moment of clicking on the box, the user will be able to view a dynamic card in the inbox at the top that informs if the shipment is in transit or when the package will be delivered. If you cannot activate the function, it is probably because you do not have the latest Gmail update. To fix it: go to the Play Store (on Android systems); tap on "My apps and games"; select the "Updates" tab; Look for the Gmail app in "Pending updates" and click on the icon.
