Netflix's ad-supported subscription will be added to existing plans on the platform as a cheaper option Logo Netflix mobile screen, as the company works to monetize logins away from home.

Netflix has confirmed during the presentation of its earnings report that it has lost 970,000 subscribers in the second quarter, the largest loss of subscribers in the company's history.

With data like this, the company seeks to "evolve and improve monetization", two issues that are presented as "key" to accelerate the growth of its income, and that include new subscription plans to attract new users.

One of these plans is currently being tested in Latin America. Netflix has introduced additional fees for users who sign in outside the home and connect to a TV.

Likewise, the company announced a few days ago its alliance with Microsoft to develop a new subscription model with ads, which will offer access to the contents of the platform for a price lower than that of the currently available plans.

Netflix plans to introduce this cheaper plan in early 2023, as reflected in the forecasts of its results report. And it will first reach a small group of markets where there is significant ad spend.
