Television Risto Mejide opens with Jorge Drexler in Traveling with Chester: "I'm not fine"

Jorge Drexler sat on the sofa of Viajando con Chester in its delivery issued on Tuesday, February 28. Risto Mejide opened up during his interview with the artist in the Cuatro space, as he talked about his personal life and how he is after his breakup with Laura Escanes.

The singer-songwriter recalled in the program one of the most difficult moments of his life: "I was taking antidepressants for a year, I was in therapy for a long time... It was a very hard year. I had just separated, soon after I fell in love and I had to make it compatible to separate with a child".

The presenter pointed out: "I am in that situation now. I just separated with a daughter." The guest commented, "I don't know what to tell you, because you say 'sorry' so fast, but sometimes it's not 'sorry'."

The Catalan pointed out: "I feel identified with what you have said. How do you build something beautiful, such as seducing or being seduced, even considering something with someone, at a time when everything you look at inside is destroyed? You have a lot to rebuild at a time when a new person can make you excited. That's very complicated".

The Uruguayan replied laughing: "You are making a mistake with me by thinking that this is your therapy. I am not a therapist, I write songs. What I am is older than you and I can have a little more experience over time." Then he asked her: "But are you wrong?"

The driver of the format confessed: "I'm not fine. I've been fine, with which I can see the difference between the two stadiums. Which is not bad to say. Look at the vulnerability and fragility, which I hid a few years ago. Now I don't mind saying 'I'm sick', also for asking for help."

Jorge Drexler wanted to know if Risto Mejide had received professional help after his breakup. The presenter said that not yet and justified it by explaining that his mother is a clinical psychologist: "In some way, there has always been therapy at home. It was a natural way of relating... I defend that people go because they give you tools that at they better serve you... I have a fucking problem and it's that I think I'm smarter than the guy who gives me the tools. It's an ego problem."

The interviewee offered his vision in Traveling with Chester: "The mistake is in thinking that this depends on intelligence. From there you don't just come out with intelligence, or with words, or with friends... I think there are times when one has to ask for help. I'm not saying it's your time because I don't know you and I don't know what your circumstances are like. Separating with a child is not the same as without children... If you separate with them, it's a much more complicated because you don't separate. You have to go on reconciling all your life".
