Orestes Barbero and Rafa Castaño returned to Pasapalabra in their delivery issued on Wednesday, February 1. The Antena 3 program resumed its usual dynamics after organizing the Duel of Champions, a series of specials in which former contestants faced each other and which ended with the victory of Pablo Díaz.
The man from Burgos and the man from Seville reappeared after a break of almost two weeks. His last intervention in the format dated back to last Friday, January 20. None had to go through the blue chair, because that day they had finished the rosco with a tie.
Barbero was in the blue team along with Víctor Elías and Manuela Vellés. It was his 329th program, in which viewers were able to see that he has already accumulated 193,800 euros.
For his part, Castaño had the help of Boticaria García and Eduardo Casanova in the orange team. It was the 166th program for the Andalusian, who has won 111,600 euros.
The two contestants competed in the Pasapalabra rosco for a prize of 2,086,000 euros. Orestes was about to take it away. The young man started the challenge on the right foot, since in a single turn he put 17 letters in green.
The participant finished the first round with 23 correct answers and no errors. He started the second by adding another hit on the r with "royalty", so he was only one word away from completing the rosco.
The definition that separated it from the boat was in the letter V: "Last name of the surgeon who in 1818 was appointed personal physician to Napoleon Bonaparte on the island of Saint Helena." He admitted that he didn't know who he was after trying his luck with Vilanova and failing.
Rafa had it very difficult to reach his opponent. He finished off the first round of the rosco with 20 hits and got two more in the second. He was forced to risk and made a couple of mistakes, so he will go through the blue chair on Thursday, February 2.
