The fault that this Friday caused numerous delays and diversions on the high-speed lines of the Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station in Madrid has been solved, and early this Saturday traffic is running as normal, Adif has reported on its social networks.

This Friday, coinciding with the first day of Operation Exit of Holy Week, a voltage drop in the catenary collapsed Chamartín for practically the entire afternoon, affecting the trains that connect the capital with the northwest of the country and with the provinces of Valencia, Alicante and Murcia.

From 4:50 p.m., when the breakdown occurred, the circulation of high-speed trains was completely paralyzed for more than an hour.

Around 6:00 p.m., train circulation began to recover to the north, and approximately an hour later, activity resumed in the Levantine corridor, although the delays persisted throughout the afternoon.

In addition, trains bound for Murcia and Alicante were provisionally serviced from the Atocha-Almudena Grandes station.

When the electrical voltage in the catenary was lost, the high-speed trains could not leave the Chamartín station or access it, so there were convoys bound for Madrid that had to stop halfway.

Meanwhile, since the scheduled departures from Chamartín did not take place, there were crowds at the station, especially in the boarding area, and Adif even temporarily interrupted access to the lobby for security reasons.

The situation provoked numerous complaints from travelers through social networks.
