The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that it has added to the arsenal used in Ukraine a new kakmikaze drone, Boomerang, capable of pursuing targets moving at a speed of up to 170 kilometers per hour.

The drone, a small device capable of carrying an explosive charge, is directed by an operator with the help of virtual reality glasses, with the help of an assistant, who follows its route on a map, Defense said on its Telegram channel, in which he posted a video with footage of a boomerang being thrown.

The device, barely a span, is an FVP or immersion pilot, which facilitates the operator's work.

In addition, adds the Defense note, the Boomerang does not have a satellite communication module, so anti-drone electronic means are useless against it.

The winter in Ukraine has been marked by a long series of Russian missile and explosive drone attacks on energy facilities, periodically causing massive cuts in electricity and drinking water.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy, Dmytro Kuleba, assured this Wednesday that his country "survived the most difficult winter" in its history, marked by massive Russian bombings that left millions of people without electricity, reports Afp.

Ukraine's Western allies have progressively supplied it with air defense systems, and Russia has reduced the frequency and magnitude of its attacks.

The fighting is concentrated in the east of the country, mainly around the city of Bakhmut, where the situation is "extremely tense", according to the Ukrainian army.
