120 million euros richer: winner of the Eurojackpot has reported

Just over a week ago someone won the unbelievable sum of 120 million euros at the Eurojackpot. The probability of winning is 1 in 140 million. The lucky guy has meanwhile got in touch - the person lives in Berlin.

The money will be there in the next ten days: According to Lotto Berlin, the winner of the German lottery record prize of 120 million euros has reported. As spokesman Thomas Dumke announced, it is a person who lives in Berlin. "However, the person does not want any further information about them to be known," said Dumke.

The money will be transferred in the next few days. According to Dumke, the lucky one reported last week in the Lotto Berlin administration building. More precise information was not given, so that it is not possible to draw conclusions about the winner from a possible observation of the building entrance. "The person really asked for absolute discretion," Dumke said. The Eurojackpot was cracked last Tuesday.

With the winning numbers 15 - 17 - 23 - 35 - 38 and the two Euro numbers 4 and 9, a player was correct for the first time after 16 draws without a main prize. In May, a syndicate from North Rhine-Westphalia won 110 million euros. The probability of winning the Eurojackpot is 1 in 140 million. The Berlin winner's ticket for 20.50 euros was handed in at a collection point in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district shortly before the closing date on November 8th. Lotto Berlin generally advises winners to maintain secrecy.

Usually nobody has to be persuaded to do this. "I have never experienced a case where someone wanted to go to the press. Most of them have to collect themselves first," Dumke told the dpa. After a winning ticket has been handed in at the head office, it is secured there and the prize is deposited. Many of the winners would then first have to take care of a new account. "Of course, we advise not simply putting such a profit on a checking account," said Dumke. In individual cases, Lotto Berlin looks after the lucky ones for several weeks, but financial and legal advice is not offered.
