Academy Awards 2017: Complete list of Oscar winners and nominees

The 89th Academy Awards are underway. “La La Land” leads the Oscar nominations tally, with 14, including actor, actress, director and picture.

The night’s first major award went to “Moonlight’s” Mahershala Ali, who took home the trophy for supporting actor.

Elsewhere, Ava Duvernay’s “13th” and “O.J.: Made in America” are among best documentary feature nominees, continuing the ongoing conversation about race in the United States.  And with Viola Davis, Dev Patel, Octavia Spencer, Denzel Washington, Mahershala Ali, Naomie Harris and Ruth Negga nominated in the acting categories, tonight’s 89th Academy Awards will definitely not be so white.
