After a rattlesnake bite, Cary Elwes, star of "Princess Bride", was taken to the hospital.

He posted this on his Facebook page on Monday.

Elwes, 59 said that he was "recovering" and clarified that he wasn’t bitten or bitten by "Rodents Of Unusual Size." This refers to the giant rat-like creatures found in "The Princess Bride".

"Bit not by ROUS, but by a rattlesnake. We are grateful to Malibu Urgent Care, Los Angeles Fire Department. He thanked the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center staff and medical professionals for their outstanding care." he wrote.

He also displayed a photo of his injured finger that appeared dark and swollen.

TMZ says that Elwes was working in the yard before being bitten. He had to be flown to the hospital. According to CBS Los Angeles, paramedics responded to a call about a snake bike at a Malibu home on Saturday and transported a person to an area medical facility.

Elwes will star in Zach Snyder's film "Rebel Moon." He retweeted Synder’s tweet last week stating that the movie's production had begun.
