Amber Heard claims she became a mother "on my terms" as a single parent.

In an Instagram post, she said that Oonagh Paige Heard was her daughter. Thursday's announcement was accompanied by a photo of Heard and the baby snuggled against her.

Heard wrote in the post, "I now realize how radical it is to think about one the most fundamental part of our destiny in this way." "I hope that we reach a point where it's acceptable to not desire a ring to have a crib."

She stated that she wanted to ensure that her private life was not in anyone's hands, but that the nature of her job made it necessary for her to reveal the birth.

Heard stated, "She's my beginning for the rest of me,"

The actress has been through a turbulent period in her life. Her 2015-2017 marriage to Johnny Depp was marred by a series of legal proceedings.

Depp lost a case against a British newspaper last year that had accused him of domestic violence. A judge ruled that the allegations were "substantially accurate." Depp was denied permission to appeal that ruling. He claimed that his attempt to reverse the decision "no real chance of success."

Depp is also suing Heard in Virginia for $50 million over an essay she wrote in the Washington Post about domestic violence. In that case, the trial was delayed to April 2022.
