Four injured in Stuttgart: Heavy explosion in a residential building - 85-year-old missing

Four people were injured in an explosion in a residential building in Stuttgart. Parts of the building had collapsed, others were on fire, the fire department said. The explosion occurred around 3 a.m. in the west of the city. According to the information, a hundred emergency services are on site. The four injured, including two children, were transported by the ambulance service to nearby hospitals. An 85-year-old woman is still missing.

The blast also damaged surrounding buildings and vehicles. A fire department spokesman said there was debris and burned-out vehicles on the road. The residents of the surrounding buildings had to leave them for a short time, but have since been able to return.

According to the fire brigade spokesman, the assumption that it was a gas explosion is obvious. However, it cannot be confirmed at first.
