The "accompanied driving from 17" is actually intended as a gentle introduction to driving a car. Parents or other trusted persons should guide novice drivers in the still new road jungle. In Brandenburg, such a tandem has worked rather poorly.

A 17-year-old driver was stopped by the police in southern Brandenburg at more than 200 instead of the permitted 120 kilometers per hour. The novice driver was on the A13 near Calau (Oberspreewald-Lausitz) on Saturday morning, the police said today. According to the information, he passed several traffic signs on which the speed limit was displayed on both sides of the lanes.

On Twitter, the investigators showed that the speed was even 219 kilometers per hour. Because of the missing hard shoulder in the direction of Dresden, the police monitored the speeds between Bronkow and Calau. There have been a number of accidents there in the past.

The officers checked the car - a Porsche - and the driver in a freeway parking lot. They found that a 17-year-old novice driver who had a test certificate for "accompanied driving from the age of 17" was behind the wheel. His mother accompanied him in the vehicle.

Administrative offense proceedings have been initiated. The young person now has to reckon with a fine of 600 euros, a two-month driving ban and two points in the central traffic register. In addition, the young driver can expect to attend a traffic law advanced seminar during his probationary period.
