Two men died in an accident at a service area on Autobahn 46 during the night. The car, which was occupied by four young men, was heading in the direction of Wuppertal-Nord, said a police spokesman. At the Sternenberg-Süd service area, the driver then apparently left the motorway at significantly too high a speed.

His car hit a lane divider and then slammed into two parked trucks. The driver and one of the passengers died at the scene of the accident, the other two occupants were seriously injured. The fire department freed one of them from the wreckage of the car, according to a message.
