"Relationship intentions rejected": 26-year-old from Greven admits the murder of a neighbor

In the morning, the police discover the body of a missing young woman from Greven in a bush. She disappeared after visiting a fair over the weekend. Now her neighbor admits to having murdered the 25-year-old. The motive - apparently just hurt vanity.

In Greven, North Rhine-Westphalia, a 25-year-old woman was found dead in a bush around 4 a.m. in the early morning. She has been missing since Monday. Her neighbor is suspected of having killed the young woman. The 26-year-old is said to have intercepted and murdered the victim on Sunday night on the way home from a fair. He laid the body in the bushes in Saerbeck.

According to the police, the man quickly came under suspicion after the young woman's disappearance because he got caught up in contradictions during an interrogation. Finally he confessed to the crime. He also gave investigators the location where he hid the missing woman's body.

Emergency services finally found the dead at the named location about ten kilometers from where the missing person and the suspect lived. There are also first indications of the motive. The suspect and his victim knew each other. "The 25-year-old woman is said to have rejected the 26-year-old's intentions to have a relationship," said Heiner Olthuis, head of the homicide squad used by the Münster police. The investigation into the case continued.

The victim was last seen around 2.40 a.m. on Sunday morning on the Emsbrücke in Greven. At first, a drone and mantrailer dogs were used to search for the missing person - but initially without success. An autopsy of the body should now clarify further questions about the circumstances of death. The alleged murderer of the young woman was arrested.
