TRNSMT warns of train delays as Capaldi shows its closing show

Trains will not be running after the performance of Lewis Capaldi, the headliner at the TRNSMT festival's final day.

For day three, thousands of revellers gathered at Glasgow Green to celebrate Scotland's largest music festival.

Last trains will not stop until the end of the Scots singer’s set because of an emergency rail schedule.

ScotRail advised customers to review their travel details and consider alternate travel plans.

After two years of Covid disruption, the festival is back in its summer slot.

Tickets were purchased by approximately 50,000 people for the three-day event, which featured performances by acts such as The Strokes and Paolo Nutini.

Wolf Alice, Sigrid, and DMA's were some of the acts that performed on the main stage before the Someone You Liked singer from Blackburn, West Lothian closes the three-day festival.

The gig's curfew starts at 23:00.

ScotRail's customer operations head Phil Campbell stated: "Customers who are going to TRNSMT Sunday should be aware there will not be trains after the event. Please check your entire journey and find alternative transport."

ScotRail was placed into public ownership in April. Union Aslef sued ScotRail. ScotRail introduced a temporary schedule. This move resulted in hundreds of cancelled services. Train drivers refused to work overtime or on their rest days.

The union accepted a recent offer of a 5% raise in pay. It has been submitted to members for their approval. However, a time limit continues to be set while more drivers are trained.

Festival goers claimed that they waited for hours to get in, in temperatures of up to 20C, and were forced by organisers not to give them water.

Some people shared their wait for up to three hours on social media. Many were worried that they might miss the bands they want to see.

TRNSMT organizers advised ticket holders that they should arrive early to avoid being delayed by acts due to be on stage. This will allow them to pass security lines faster.

They advised that they keep hydrated on Scotland's hottest day and to use sunscreen when waiting for tickets.

Additional water stations are available on-site and welfare staff will also be available throughout the day.

They also stated that there was alternative transportation available, including buses, the subway network and taxis.
