Kaylea Titford: Parents deny that their daughter died from obesity

Two parents denied that their teenage daughter could die from being morbidly obese.

Kaylea Louise Titford (16) was found murdered at her Powys residence in October 2020.

Alan Titford (44), and Sarah Jane Lloyd-Jones (39), both of Newtown, Powys are charged with manslaughter as well as causing or allowing death of a child, or vulnerable person.

An earlier hearing had alleged that Kaylea's dietary requirements were not met, which led to her obesity.

Parents are also accused of failing to ensure that she was getting enough exercise, was in a healthy condition and sought reasonable medical attention.

Both were denied the charges during a pre-trial hearing at Mold Crown Court. They were released on bail and will be tried in January.
