Pearl Jam, new Mad Cool 2018 Poster Head
Mad Cool returns to give the bell in its programming. Pearl Jam, the famous Seattle band and grunge icon of the nineties, is the new headline of the Madrid Superfestival, which will hold its third edition from 12 to 14 July 2018. All the rumors are confirmed. Pearl Jam sounded in many bets for the Mad Cool of the 2018, but it has even been on the festival's radar since its first edition in 2016. The group will perform at the event, held in Valdebebas on July 12th. Before, on July 10, Eddie Vedder and his own will play at the Palau Sant Jordi. Formed in Seattle (Washington) in 1990, they were one of the spearheads of the grunge movement and, to this day, they remain one of the most important bands of the world music scene. Eight years after his last visit to our country – and 11 years of the last time they stepped in Madrid – Eddie Vedder (vocals), Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (guitarist), Mike McCready (guitar) and Matt Cameron (drums) come to Mad Cool. At the moment the cartel is of magnitude with the confirmations of Massive Attack, Queens of the Stone Age, Kasabian, future Islands, Real Estate, MGMT, Jack Johnson, Justice, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Angel Stanich, Ofenbach, I have it, Snow Patrol, Perfume Genius, Nine Inch Nails, Gold Panda, Morgan, Black Pistol Fire, Japandroids, Sampha, washed Out, Marmozets, the black Madonna, At the Drive In, Rag 'n' Bone Man, La M.O.D.A. and Fleet Foxes. After the success of his last call, which brought together a total of 135,000 people and exhausted tickets and credits with the presence of Foo fighters, Green Day, Kings of Leon, Wilco, Spoon or Ryan Adams, the festival moves to the north of Madrid , to the location of Valdebebas, in an enclosure of 100,000 square meters. With this change of location, the festival also changes in size, increasing the capacity of the enclosure up to 35,000 people per day. For the organization this decision responds to "a need for evolution and growth" whose objective is to make Madrid "a city of reference for large format live music". Mad Cool will also feature a new and renovated restoration area and continue to support the various artistic disciplines through Mad cool Gallery and the art market.
