Criticism is not uncommon: These are the best online dating sites

The search for love nowadays often takes place on the internet. However, users of online partner exchanges or dating apps are rarely satisfied with their provider, but amorous success stories are not isolated cases. This is shown by a current customer survey.

The 27 online dating agencies, single and over 50 partner exchanges and dating apps tested by the German Institute for Service Quality only achieve a satisfactory overall result on average. 19 providers achieve this customer rating, eight others are even only sufficient – even the most popular platforms do not achieve a good overall rating.

The users of online dating agencies and over 50 online dating sites are more satisfied with the quality of the membership structure and the customer service than those of online single sites and dating apps. On the other hand, the costs and contract conditions for the two latter models are better from the customer's point of view.

The membership structure in particular is often viewed critically, with various factors being decisive. Inappropriate suggestions from partner exchanges, few or no letters or dubious contacts can lead to disappointment, for example. A persistent failure in finding a partner almost inevitably leads to a personally negative assessment of the membership structure.

But what about the chances of success? The majority of the survey participants are currently still looking - around 38 percent of those surveyed stated that their search for a partner was not successful and that the provider is no longer used. In almost every tenth case, however, a sense of achievement is reported: 9.7 percent of users have found a partner on an online partner exchange or via the dating app.

Markus Hamer, Managing Director of the German Institute for Service Quality, summarizes: "The desire to find a partner is the main motivation for registering. If there is no success, this will sooner or later lead to dissatisfaction. Numerous providers are cutting but satisfactorily, which shows that positive experiences or at least an optimistic attitude when it comes to finding a partner are not uncommon."

Online dating agencies: Here Parship achieves the best result in terms of customer satisfaction. The provider's customer service is convincing compared to the competition - in terms of security standards, Parship achieves a good result. Also with regard to the costs and contract conditions as well as the services when looking for a partner, the approval of the users is the highest. The willingness to recommend is neutral, which is a positive exception among online dating agencies. Lemonswan followed in second and third place, ahead of Elitepartner.

Online dating sites: Lovescout24 takes first place. In comparison, customer satisfaction is highest in several sub-areas, such as security standards, the website and services when looking for a partner. The customer service also convinces around 69 percent of the users. The proportion of respondents with annoyances is relatively low at around seven percent. Neu.de came in second ahead of Finya in third place.

Online dating sites over 50: Silver singles achieves the highest level of satisfaction among online dating sites with older clients.
