Death of Ray Stevenson, hero of the series "Rome" and actor of "Thor"

The famous Titus Pullo from the Rome series (broadcast between 2005 and 2007) is no more. British actor Ray Stevenson died on Monday May 22, relays Allociné. He was 58 years old. The native of Lisburn, Northern Ireland, died of an "illness" according to information from the Italian site Repubblica. The actor was to shoot the film Cassino in Ischia, a drama directed by Joseph Ciota.

This pilot's son did not initially think of becoming an actor because he did not believe in his chances. He had started a career as an interior designer. He took his first steps at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School in British series and TV films. These first experiences opened the doors of the seventh art to him. In 2004, he evolved under the orders of Antoine Fuqua with Clive Owen in the adaptation of King Arthur, where he portrayed the court jester, Dagonet.

A year later, he landed the "role of his life", that of Titus Pullo in the Rome series. The two seasons allow him to become a comedian recognized by his peers. Thanks to his strong performance in the American-British-Italian series, Stevenson is making his return to the big screen. This tall, 6'2" tall guy plays "tough" roles like Frank Castle in The Punisher - War Zone or Porthos in Paul W.S Anderson's adaptation of The Three Musketeers.

His second significant role will be in the saga of blockbusters Thor, from Marvel studios. He brilliantly camps there Volstagg, a compatriot of the Scandinavian god, reputed to be a fierce warrior. Stevenson does not however forget the comedy since he will also play in Very Bad Cops in 2010, a totally crazy detective film. The actor's final appearance will be in RRR, an Indian epic and historical film in 2022.
