Sometimes you don't need to say much to get your message across. Cathy Hummels is an expert at making statements without labeling them as such. The Munich resident uses her favorite platform for this: Instagram.
This is particularly noticeable since the marriage of Cathy and Mats Hummels has been dominating the headlines more and more. The first rumors of a separation came up last year. Hummels also posted pictures with her husband at the time. "What do I want to say with this picture, many of you are probably wondering. Actually, just that we had a good time at the Christmas market and stick together," she wrote about one of the snapshots.
But when the rumors didn't want to stop this year either, she followed up. In May she posted another picture with Mats Hummels, explaining: "And even if our family life is very special and different, we always have the most beautiful thing in common in the world: the most valuable person, namely Ludwig."
When the first reports were published a few weeks ago that the Hummels filed for divorce, she was again clearly ambiguous. "When one door closes, a new one opens. I don't like changes that much. But accepting them helps you, even if it hurts. I accept it and, as always, I'm as positive as possible. For Ludwig. For Me. For our lives," she wrote on Instagram, but didn't reveal what was actually going on in the Hummels' life right now.
While it still left some room for interpretation last year, Hummels' postings have recently become increasingly clear. The message: She is concentrating on her own life with her son Ludwig. "I manage to let go more every day. Baby steps! How do you say: '... luck in the game / job'", she posted just a few days ago and went one better with a message to her followers. "You are Queens - a homemade crown is good for the soul," she wrote on a picture of herself.
One thing is clear: Cathy Hummels has mastered the art of semi-subtle Instagram captions over the years.
