King Harald of Norway: Royal was discharged from the hospital

Reassuring news from Norway: King Harald (85) was allowed to leave the hospital he has been in since last Thursday. The Norwegian royal family announced this very briefly on its official website. The statement said: "His Majesty the King was discharged from the National Hospital today. The King is in good condition."

The 85-year-old was admitted last week because of an infection that also caused a fever. This had to be "treated with intravenous antibiotics", as the royal family announced the day after the admission. His condition was stable at all times, it said.

King Harald's recent hospitalization is one of the monarch's recent health problems. In March 2022, Harald V. tested positive for the corona virus and was on sick leave.

At the end of January, Crown Prince Haakon (49) had temporarily taken over his father's official business when he was unable to work due to cold symptoms. King Harald has been on sick leave several times in recent years, including in 2020 when he was operated on for a new heart valve.
