Lance Armstrong: The former cyclist got married

The former American professional cyclist and Jan Ullrich's (48) biggest competitor, Lance Armstrong (50), has entered into the bond of marriage. The ex-athlete announced this with a series of pictures of the "best day ever" on Instagram. "I married the love of my life, Anna Hansen Armstrong," writes the star about the joint recordings of the wedding in France, where "plenty of tears of joy" flowed.

"Anna, you've been my steadfast strength for the past 14 years. And let me be clear, I wouldn't have survived them without you. I'm so proud of the couple we've grown into." It had been a hard piece of work, so he was all the happier that the two had taken it upon themselves.

Anna and Lance Armstrong have been a couple since 2008 and engaged since 2017. What the star means with the turbulent times that the two had to go through together is obvious: after doping allegations against Armstrong were heard, all titles won since 1998 were withdrawn from him in 2012, including seven Tour de France triumphs. The following year, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey (68), he admitted for the first time that he had in fact taken illegal performance-enhancing drugs.
